Getting to know Homer Glen

Homer Glen is a southwest suburban village in northeastern Will County, approximately 25 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. The community is known for its residential developments, open spaces, parks, trails and access to the natural areas of the Will County Forest Preserve District. Its location also gives residents access to shopping, dining and services along major commercial corridors in the surrounding suburbs.

The area’s history reaches back to the early 1800s, when settlers were drawn to the region’s timber and farmland. Two early communities, Goodings Grove and Hadley, developed in the 1830s. The Village of Homer Glen was incorporated in 2001, bringing a municipal identity to a community that had long been part of Homer Township. Today, Homer Glen continues to balance residential growth with an emphasis on preserving open space and its distinctive community character.

Homer Glen · MRED closed-sale records supplied for this guide

This snapshot separates detached single-family homes from attached homes. The supplied export includes 121 detached sales and 29 attached sales, along with 11 vacant-land records that are excluded from the home averages. Market data disclaimer: We compile market snapshots using available closed-sale records and subdivision information. Occasionally, a listing arrives without a subdivision name—or with details that were never filled in by the listing agent. When we cannot confidently identify the neighborhood, that sale may be left out of that subdivision’s statistics. We can only work with the information that makes it into the system! We make every effort to keep this information accurate and current, but these figures are general market snapshots, not appraisals or guarantees of value.
